Hello Everyone,
It seems with God there are seasons of waiting.
Psalm 5:3 says, "In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."
Psalm 27:14 also says, "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD."
I must say waiting is a great spiritual discipline and one I find difficult to accept at times. I think there is much personal transformation when I wait on the Lord, because waiting involves trust.
I wanted to report on how events are progressing in the area of choosing a mission agency with whom I will go overseas.
Last week I received unexpected word from ALARM that they were hoping to send a budget within the next week. I seems this avenue is still open, but there is uncertainty still on how details are going to get worked out to successfully arrive in Rwanda by the end of the year.My advisor at Western suggested I wait and see what develops with ALARM and in the mean time seek options to serve with other agencies.
On Monday, I spoke with Catharine Coon who works with World Venture in Uganda. It was a very good chance to meet her and hear about what her ministry, Hope Alive, is doing in Uganda. I filled out a personal information form for World Venture today to begin exploring what opportunities there might be to serve with Catharine in Uganda. I also contacted with Dan Brose, who works with World Relief in Burundi. Dan is a distant relative of mine. So far, I have sent information to him about who I am and what I seek to do in Africa. I am waiting for his response to continue the conversation.
As you can tell, there is a lot of conversations going on at the moment concerning mission agencies working in Africa.
I trust that as you and I continue to seek the Lord, he will provide an answer of where and whom I am to go with at the right time.
I will keep you posted on what develops.
Thank you for your prayers.
Sincerely,
Andrew
